QA Lead, Mobile Test Automation

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative professional to lead mobile test automation efforts and help ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile applications. In this role, you will shape test strategy, drive automation best practices, and partner closely with engineering, product, and QA teams to improve release confidence and product reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks for mobile applications.
- Define and execute mobile test automation strategy across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Partner with developers, product managers, and QA team members to understand requirements and identify test coverage needs.
- Review mobile features and user stories to create effective test plans and automation opportunities.
- Drive adoption of automation best practices, coding standards, and maintainable test architecture.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable releases.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and provide clear reporting on quality metrics and trends.
- Mentor and support QA team members in automation techniques, tools, and processes.
- Collaborate on test data management, environment readiness, and release validation activities.
- Continuously improve testing efficiency, coverage, and execution speed.
Qualifications
- Experience leading QA or test automation efforts for mobile applications.
- Hands-on expertise with mobile automation tools and frameworks such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, QA processes, and software development lifecycles.
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks and scalable test suites.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language used in test automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across devices, operating systems, and mobile environments.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile or cross-functional product development environments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with mobile device farms, cloud testing platforms, or emulator/simulator management.
- Knowledge of performance, accessibility, or API testing for mobile applications.
- Exposure to test reporting tools, dashboards, and quality metrics.
- Previous experience mentoring team members or guiding QA standards across a team.
